RE Showcase Exhibition by Precious Plastic Bangkok

That’s it for RE:FORM Showcase Exhibition by Precious Plastic Bangkok, an exhibition that explored the potential of LDPE (#4) plastic waste through experimentation, design, and the creation of new furniture and products, bringing together communities, designers, and partners from diverse sectors.

This exhibition was made possible through the support of British Council Thailand, whose funding, trust in our potential, and understanding throughout our collaboration gave us the opportunity to experiment, learn, and explore new possibilities for LDPE recycling.

We would like to express our gratitude to Koh Klang Community Enterprise for co-creating pieces from recycled plastic strands. Their craftsmanship and meticulous weaving demonstrate the value of combining new materials with traditional community skills and knowledge. We also extend our thanks to Matthew Chatfield, the British designer for this project, for bringing fresh perspectives and ideas that complemented the community’s skills, and for joining us in the process of experimentation and learning.

Our thanks also go to SSI and THAI KOON STEEL GROUP for supporting the furniture frames made from low-carbon steel, which played an important role in turning our ideas into tangible creations. We are equally grateful to all our partners and everyone whose names may not be mentioned here but who contributed to the exhibition and shared this important milestone with us.

RE:FORM Showcase Exhibition marks another step in our journey of learning and experimentation, but our work does not end here. We will continue to explore new possibilities for plastic waste management while strengthening the capabilities of communities across Thailand. Our vision is for recycling to be more than just waste management; it should also create value, develop skills, and open up opportunities for sustainable income generation.

Can't wait for our new project upcoming!
